A story that began in 1937

Albert Fouquet, the son of a Parisian aristocrat, was part of French high society in the early 20th century and was a perfume connoisseur. In an upstairs room of the family castle, Fouquet had created and perfected various essences for his own use - aided by Philippe, the family's butler.

At social events he surprised everyone with an exquisite fragrance that became increasingly in demand in the exclusive circle he frequented. However, Fouquet had continually rejected proposals to commercialize her fragrance.

One night, during his summer vacation in 1937 on the French Riviera (Côte d'Azur), Albert met and got to know a young American student who was touring France in his convertible: John FK. Within minutes JFK was fascinated by the perfume Albert was wearing. John's charm and sympathy convinced Albert to leave him a sample of his colony at the hotel the following morning with a note:

"In this bottle, you will find the pinch of French charm that your American personality lacks."

Upon returning from his vacation, Albert received a letter from John from the United States thanking him for his kind gesture and informing him of the success his perfume enjoyed among his friends. He asked Albert if he would send him eight samples, "and if your production allows, another one for Bob". Without fully understanding the request, Alberto decided to send a box with enough samples to offset the transport costs. Her perfectionism was extended not only to the fragrance, but to everything that surrounds it. He asked Philippe to find some beautiful glass bottles in a Parisian pharmacy that Albert considered suitable for his colony. Finally, he ordered multiple boxes decorated with the same pattern as the shirt JFK was wearing when they met, and then labeled the bottles and boxes with John's amusing request: "EIGHT & BOB".

Albert was surprised a few months later when he started receiving letters from America with inquiries from various Hollywood directors, producers and actors such as Cary Grant and James Stewart.

Everyone wanted the "OTTO & BOB" colony which they apparently discovered through John's father, who had relationships with well-known movie stars due to his previous business ventures in the industry.

Unfortunately, the success of his colony didn't spread much further. In the spring of 1939, Albert died in a car accident near Biarritz (France). Philippe, the only person who could handle the orders, would only continue with the job for a few months, as the start of World War II forced him to quit his job with the Fouquet family. In the final expeditions, Philippe hid the bottles inside books which he carefully cut by hand to prevent the Nazis from seizing the colony.

Decades later, thanks to the family of Philippe the butler, the formula for "OTTO & BOB" was completely recovered, along with its carefully crafted manufacturing process. Once again, it has become one of the most exclusive colonies, preferred by the most elegant men in the world.

The story of Eight & Bob is based on a family history transmitted verbally over time. For its final narrative, fictional facts and characters were introduced.
