She wanted to take inspiration from her name as a dancer and courtesan, Mata Hari, meaning the day eye in Malay, from her exotic origins.  Originality: rose, cinnamon and sandalwood. Roses typically represent a sense of fragility and sensitivity. In 1876, we combined the Moldovan rose, cinnamon and sandalwood. A spicy rose illustrates the Asian origin of Mata Hari, sandalwood is the primary wood in Asia, and cinnamon suggests the scents of the kitchen.
