 History:
 Garuda is a patron deity, portrayed in Kmer mythology as part man and part bird. It represents the lord of the birds, an allegorical figure of Indian inspiration. Thousands of descriptions of Garuda decorate the bas-reliefs of the sumptuous Angkor Wat, showing the deity along with the skilled steed Vishnu or Krishna, who supports the god on his shoulders, and simultaneously struggles against enemy forces.
