In the 1930s, skiing was an elite sport and St. Moritz was among the most famous ski resorts frequented by the European aristocracy. Albert Fouquet, the creator of the Eight & Bob perfumes, was among its regular visitors.
As a guest in the Parisian residence of his friend Nicolás, he met a refined tailor from Megève, invited to make his tailor-made ski clothing. During the conversation he heard about the beauties of this locality, where Baroness Maurice de Rothschild had recently created a ski resort so exclusive and classy that those in the Swiss Alps would envy.
Usually attending the social events organized by his friend (the Cap Ferret party and the Paris castle), Albert accepted Nicolas's invitation to the pre-Christmas dinner in Megève in which the Parisian jet set would participate. It was during that dinner that he met the most beautiful woman he had ever seen….
The outline of her face, symbol of perfection and beauty, framed large emerald green eyes and a smile to take your breath away. The elegance of her gestures, in her bearing, were enhanced by a long black dress… the jewels she wore, synonymous with refinement. Albert spent the whole evening next to Annicke, they chatted for hours by the fireplace: they danced, laughed ... and promised to meet again in the following months.
When he returned to Paris, Albert had the will to keep that memory alive: that splendid evening was told in a wonderful perfume made of emotions told in front of the lit fireplace, of long skiing immersed in the white mantle and in the unforgettable smell of the splendid Megève .
Thus was born a new creation by Albert Fouquet: Nuit de Megève.
During that magical dinner Fouquet, after a day spent on the ski slopes, met the most beautiful woman he had ever dreamed of; her name was Annicke, a young Austrian girl, daughter of a Hungarian banker and noblewoman, who reflected in her face the perfection of female beauty. The light of her splendid emerald green eyes and her constant smile radiated an unparalleled serenity and sweetness. The height and his gestures were part of an all natural elegance, which, together with the long black dress and the jewels worn with discretion, were synonymous with a refined taste.
Albert Fouquet was lucky enough to spend the whole evening with Annicke, chatting for hours by the fireplace, dancing and laughing, then leaving himself with the promise to meet again in the following months. Back in Paris, Fouquet knew that the best way to keep alive the memory of that magical night in Megève was to transform it, thanks to his exceptional talent, into a precious perfume ... the scent of the mountain air, the burning of the fireplace, the atmosphere of that unforgettable party.
